Two villages, separated by caste, must now unite to address the problem of water shortage in the area or perish in their attempt to triumph over the other.


All hell breaks loose in a little village in Odisha, when the king’s sister falls in love with a lower caste boy. They end up paying with their lives and the king orders the building of a wall which would separate the upper caste from the lower caste. Two separate villages are born - Upri and Bairi. While Upri comprises of the ruling class, Bairi is formed the workers of the village who were previously employed under the rulers. Over the years, Bairi flourishes due to the vast knowledge of the workers. They are experts in agriculture and also master the art of water harvesting since they realize they could face a shortage of water. Meanwhile, Upri faces tough times when the drought finally strikes. The rulers, having no experience in digging wells and water harvesting, end up being parched all the time. Brij Kishore Singhdeo (Saurabh Shukla) is the ruler of Upri and his people look up to his son, Prince Raj (Kunal Kapoor) for their solutions since he has studied in the city. On the other hand, Bairi is looked after by Kharu Pehalwan (Gulshan Grover) and his smart daughter, Paro (Radhika Apte). Brij Kishore, tired of the water shortage, hatches a devious plan involving his son and Paro, to put an end to their problem without having to bow in front of the former employees. Will his plan see the light of the day or does destiny have other plans in store for the youngsters?
