When Baankey is told by astrologers that he is unlucky for marriage, another man is set up in his place for the proxy wedding, where the bride would ultimately go to Baankey’s house.
An unmarried 35-year old man, Baankey (Rajpal Yadav) desperately wants to married. But to his unfortunate fate, he lacks good looks and also a clause in his kundli, that states he will never get married. His father Nandlal (Rakesh Bedi), uncle Kanhaiyalal (Sanjay Mishra) and goon Lallan (Vijay Raaz) care for him, and hence ask the Pandit to find a way out. The Pandit comes up with a crazy solution of a proxy wedding, where someone else will pose as Baankey, perform the rituals, get married, but the bride will come home to Baankey. Nandlal and Lallan, after an extensive search hire a geek Rajesh (Satyajeet Dubey) to do the job. Anjali, a pretty girl hates the idea of her getting married to a geek, but approves to marry him and decides to analyse him on the wedding day. To add to further turmoil, Rajesh flees off with another girl, leaving Baankey and his family in total jeopardy. To their relief, bus driver Virat (Satyajeet Dubey) is a replica of Rajesh, and hence convince him to perform the proxy wedding, by promising him a lot of money as well as a waiver of his father’s debts. Virat agrees to perform the wedding. What exactly happens on D-Day? Does Virat get married to Anjali, Does Baankey get what he wanted, and what happens to Rajesh who flew with another girl, is where the story unfolds.
