Inspired by a real-life incident, a prominent jeweller in the Bombay of 1987 is conned by a group of people posing to be CBI officers.

Ajay Singh (Akshay Kumar) and P.K Sharma (Anupam Kher) want some more recruits for a CBI raid and the first place they raid is a minister’s house. Post the raid, it is revealed that they are not CBI officers at all but a bunch of con artists purporting to be officials. Waseem Khan (Manoj Bajpai) is a police officer who begins investigating the case. In the midst of all this action, Ajay meets Priya (Kajal Aggarwal), a teacher and falls in love with her. The camera pans to another scene, this time in another city and another robbery target. The modus operandi is almost the same and they successfully take-off with loot from a business district in Calcutta. There is a sprinkling of romance after this phase and the next target scene is Mumbai. An ingenious robbery plan on one of the biggest jewellers in the metro city is on the cards.
