Theatre director and actor Ram Parmar (RP) meets with his psychiatrist to resolve his problems. He narrates the story of him trying to save a stranger, Mandar, from suicide, which doesn’t go to well as he ends up falling in love with Mandar’s ex-girlfriend.

A successful theatre director and actor, RP (Ayushmann Khurrana)’s biggest problem is that he cannot stop himself from helping people in trouble. One night on his way home, he comes across a depressed Mandar (Kunaal Roy Kapur) about to commit suicide over his break-up with Nandini (Pooja Salvi). RP brings him home and tries to boost the jobless Mandar’s extremely low self-confidence by offering him the role of Ram in his modern-day version of Ramayan ‘Raavan Leela’. When RP realises that Mandar was ditched by his girlfriend Nandini, who runs a flower shop in the same city, he decides to unite the two and solve his friend’s problems for once and for all. But despite his best intentions, RP falls in love with Nandini who is also attracted to him. While doing this he ends up lying to his friend Sita (Eveyln Sharma) and girlfriend Chitra (Gaelyn Mendonca) on many occasions. RP does not want to deceive Mandar, so he breaks up his relationship with Nandini and arranges for the two to meet. When Mandar comes to know that Nandini and RP were in a relationship, he feels cheated and breaks off his ties with RP and the drama troupe. Much later, Mandar returns to the play as Hanuman and helps RP and Nandini resolve their differences. The film runs in narrative mode, with RP describing his problems in a meeting with his psychiatrist.
