A common man, Raja Mishra, gets transformed into Bullet Raja – a notorious gangster. He ends up taking on the same system he once followed in a struggle for power and ambition. The film is set against the backdrop of UP’s mafia scene.



Raja Mishra (Saif Ali Khan) is a common man that obediently follows the system but is a victim of it. He gatecrashes a wedding while trying to escape from a brawl. He befriends the bride’s cousin Rudra Tripathi (Jimmy Shergill). He overhears a plot to execute everyone at the wedding by Lallan Tiwari (Chunky Pandey) and tries to save the day. Rudra’s uncle (Sharat Saxena) sees Raja’s potential and offers him to join his gang. This marks the beginning of his transformation into Bullet Raja – a gangster with a carefree attitude. He lives life on his own terms, and sets his own rules. He takes on everybody – the police, the government and the industrialists. As he rises and revolts against the system becoming an outlaw, Bullett sets ablaze the nexus and changes the landscape forever. In one meeting, Raja and Rudra are insulted by Bajaj (Gulshan Grover). In order to teach him a lesson, they kidnap Bajaj while he is in process of pretend interviewing a girl named Mitali (Sonakshi Sinha) for the role of an actress. In the kidnapping process, Raja falls in love with Mitali. As their romance furthers, Raja tries to hatch a plan to escape.
