An unscrupulous investment banker is brought to book by an assassin, who is intent on keeping him hostage inside a phone booth till he publicly atones for his misdeeds.

Tony Khosla (Irrfan Khan) is an investment banker. His most profitable task is as a conduit for the illegal funds for the powerful, primarily a Central Minister known as Bapuji (Gulshan Grover). He is responsible for routing the money out of India into discreet Swiss Bank accounts. Tony conducts his illicit dealings from a nondescript phone booth. On one such trip to the phone booth to arrange the transfer of cash to Bapuji’s campaign funds, instead of making a call, Tony receives one instead. Veer Vijay Singh (Sanjay Dutt), a vigilante assassin, is the caller. He threatens Tony against leaving the phone booth or hanging up. He soon reveals his grouse against Tony and his anti-national frauds. Tony tries to defend himself against the accusations, but is left with no choice. In the meantime, the press and the cops get a wind of the situation brewing. Soon, the battle of nerves between Tony and Veer Singh becomes breaking news, covered by reporter Nidhi Shrivastav (Kangana Ranaut). This unnerves Bapuji, who mobilizes his influence to make sure his involvement in the scam is not outed. Eventually, Tony is forced to transfer the illegal stash of offshore money back to the Indian Government. Veer also makes him perform a couple of humiliating dances in front of all and sundry to drive home the point.
