Rising to fame with the critically acclaimed Dhobi Ghat, cinematographer Tushar has since then worked on films like Shor in the City, D-Day and Khoobsurat. Tushar, who hails from Suri, completed his schooling from Hare School, Kolkata before enrolling at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He started his career in 2008, with the short film, Shor. He also assisted on critically acclaimed films like The Japanese Wife (2010) and Midnight’s Children (2012). His first independent venture was the Aamir Khan starrer Dhobi Ghat (2010), which earned him instant recognition and fame, owing to the realistic yet beautiful portrayal of Mumbai in the film. He then went on to work on films like Shor in the City (2011), D-Day (2013) and Khoobsurat (2014). Ray also worked on the short films Humko Hai Asha: Greenpeace (2011) and Vanishing Point (2012). His upcoming films include the Sooraj Pancholi-Athiya Shetty starrer Hero (2015) and the Kangana and Imran starrer Katti Batti (2015). Tushar is married to Eeshita Ghosh Dastidar and resides in Mumbai.
