Biography

Subhransu Das is a Bollywood film cinematographer who is most notably known for his works in the National Award winning film Filmistaan. Subhransu Das belongs to Bhubaneshwar, but currently resides in Mumbai. He completed his basic education at the College of Basic Science and Humanities before joining Biju Pattanaik Film & TV Institute of Orissa. In Mumbai, he went on to work with Cinevistaas Ltd and Contiloe Entertainment Pvt Ltd as assistant cameraman for TV shows like Shararat (2004) and Sssshhh..(2003) and films like Rang De Basanti (2006). He later worked as a camera operator for films like Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011), Rajjo (2013) and 2 States (2014). His career debut as a cinematographer came with Maa Mangala (2002) and working on leading TV Shows like Crime Patrol (2004), C.I.D (2006) and Sssshhh…Phir Koi Hai (2006). He received recognition with the National Award winning and film Filmistaan (2012). He also worked on documentaries like Purple Skies (2014) and Breaking Free (2015). His latest project includes the Kunal Kapoor starrer Kaun Kitney Paani Mein (2015) and Udanchoo (2015).
