The managing director of Disney India is also an eminent producer in Bollywood and has been associated with award-winning films like Chillar Party, Paan Singh Tomar and Barfi! Siddharth was born to a Punjabi father and a Jewish mother, Salome Roy Kapur, who is a former Miss India. His mother was a choreographer for many dance sequences in Bollywood and even conducted her own classes where many celebrities have trained for dancing. After his graduation from Sydenham College, he pursued his MBA from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. He has been associated with many prestigious companies like The Procter & Gamble Company, and Star TV (India, Dubai and Hong Kong). He has served many marketing leadership roles and was also the senior vice-president of UTV. While at UTV, he led the marketing efforts behind the cult classic Rang De Basanti (2006) and the critically acclaimed Khosla Ka Ghosla (2007), both of which started new trends in the way movies are marketed in India. He led the marketing efforts on many successful projects such as Parineeta (2005), Taxi No. 9211 (2006), and Bluffmaster! (2005). Kapur rose to prominence as a successful producer with blockbuster films like Barfi! (2012), Kai Po Che! (2013), Chennai Express (2013) and Haider (2014). In more recent times, he produced films like ABCD 2 (2015), Phantom (2015) and Katti Batti (2015). His films have often surpassed 100-crores mark and won numerous awards, which has made him one of the most successful producers in Bollywood. In 2014, his production company integrated with The Walt Disney Company, and currently, he is the MD of Disney India. Siddharth Roy Kapur is the elder brother of actors Kunaal Roy Kapur and Aditya Roy Kapur. Siddharth is married to actress Vidya Balan.
