Shriswara is an Indian film actress primarily popular in the Tamil and Hindi film industry. In Bollywood, she is known for her roles in films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and D-Day. Shriswara spent her childhood in Lucknow, before moving to the US, to study science. There she entered a beauty pageant and became a first runner-up, after which she moved to Mumbai. Her first audition was for Samsung with Aamir Khan which did not materialize. After several more attempts, she landed her first ad eight months later. She first appeared on the screen with a negative role, playing a 50 year-old lady in a television serial. In 2011, she was cast in director Shine Krishna’s 4pm on the court. She made a breakthrough in Bollywood with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), opposite Farhan Akhtar, as Milkha’s wife. For his D-Day (2013), director Nikhil Advani wanted someone new, someone who wouldn’t be weighed down with an image. After portraying the unsuspecting wife of an Indian RAW agent, based in Pakistan, Shriswara walked away with all the praise for holding her own against Irrfan Khan. She was nominated as the Most Promising Newcomer at Screen Weekly Awards in 2014, for her role in D-Day. She also starred in Singham Returns (2014) and was last seen in Guddu Rangeela (2015).
