Sameer Arya is an Indian cinematographer known for his work in films like Koyla and New York. Arya made his cinematographic debut in the Hindi film industry with the thriller drama Anjaam (1994), starring Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the lead. He was next seen as a cinematographer on Kuku Kohli’s action thriller drama Suhaag (1994). Arya has worked as a cinematographer on movies like Naajayaz (1995), Dushmani: A Violent Love Story (1995), Koyla (1997), Duplicate (1998), Angaaray (1998), Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999), Jung (2000), Karobaar: The Business of Love (2000), Le Chal Apne Sang (2000), Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai…(2001), Koi…Mil Gaya (2003), Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye (2005), Bhagmati (2005), Malamaal Weekly (2006), Drona (2008), Life Partner (2009), London Paris New York (2012), Shootout at Wadala (2013) and One by Two (2014). Arya was a part of the short film Toffee (2005). He has also worked on the short film The Persian (2014). His upcoming movies as a cinematographer are Umesh Shukla’s family drama All is Well starring Abhishek Bachchan and Asin in the lead and the action drama Jazbaa, which is a comeback movie of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. While All is Well releases in August, 2015, Jazbaa is lined up for release in October, 2015. He is married to well known film and television producer Shrishti Arya.
