Sakshi Tanwar is an Indian film and television actress who rose to fame with the television serial Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and won hearts with her role in Bade Acche Lagte Hain, the television series. Sakshi, was born to retired CBI officer Rajendra Singh Tanwar, who hails from Alwar, Rajasthan. She completed her schooling from various Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country. Soon after, she graduated from Lady Shri Ram college. After college, she stepped into the television industry with Doordarshan’s show Albela Sur Mela in 1998. However, she came to the limelight by portraying the character of Parvati Aggarwal in the hit television serial Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii (2000 - 2008). In the meanwhile she also appeared in other television shows like Kutumb (2001 - 2002), Devi (2003), Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin (2004), Balika Vadhu (2010) and Ek Thhi Naayka (2013). She also starred alongside Ram Kapoor in the super hit television series, Bade Acche Lagte Hain (2011 - 2014). Tanwar also appeared in non-fiction shows like Coffee House (2009), Crime Patrol (2010) and Kaun Banega Crorepati (2012). Presently, she is the host of Code Red. She stepped into films in 2006 with the film, O Re Manva. Sakshi went on to appear in films like C Kkompany (2008), Aatankwadi Uncle (2011), Bawra Mann (2011) and Kahin Door (2012). Her upcoming films include Mohalla Assi (2015) with Sunny Deol and Dangal (2016) with Aamir Khan. For her role in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, the actress bagged the Indian Telly Award, Kalakar Award and Indian Television Academy Award for best actress in a lead role. She also won the Indian Telly Award, Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award, Star Guild Award and People’s Choice Award India for Bade Acche Lagte Hain. Sakshi was voted India Today’s most popular television couple in 2013.
