Sajid Ali is an Indian film music composer and lyricist who along with his brother Wajid Ali, form the music duo, Sajid-Wajid and have given blockbuster music in films like Wanted, Dabangg and Ek Tha Tiger among many more. Sajid Ali, along with brother Wajid Ali were born to renowned musician Ustad Allarakah Khan which led them to get inclined to music at an early age. After training under their father and Das Babu, Sajid started with Import and Export business, however, after a lot of encouragement, both brothers planned to take music as their career. They made their debut as music composers with the film, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) and Sonu Nigam’s album, Deewana (1999) where many songs from both the albums were chartbusters. Their songs in the film, Hello Brother (1999) were instrumental in the film’s success. They went on to compose music in several films like Baaghi (2000), Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge (2002), Tere Naam (2003), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Partner (2007), Welcome (2007), Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010) for which they won several awards including the Filmfare Award for Best Director (2011), Housefull 2 (2012), Rowdy Rathore (2012), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Dabangg 2 (2012), Main Tera Hero (2014), Heropanti (2014) and Tevar (2015) among many more. They also provided the lyrics for Take Lite from Nishabd (2007), Le Le Mazaa Le from Wanted (2009), Fevicol Se from Dabanng 2 (2012) and Baaki Sab First Class Hai from Jai Ho (2014). Their latest projects include composing music for films like Singh is Bling (2015) and Fan (2016). Apart from films, they have also appeared as mentors for reality shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa (2012) along with composing the title track for Bigg Boss Season 4, Season 6 and IPL 4.
