Rohit is an Indian film director, producer and writer who shot yo fame directing the comedy film, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited and has went on to give major blockbuster films over the years. Rohit Shetty began his career as an assistant director in 1993. In 2003, he made his debut feature Zameen, which starred Ajay Devgn, who would collaborate with him in various films in future. The film was a disaster, but Shetty soon bounced back with a comedy film Golmaal (2006). The film starred an ensemble cast and went on become one of that year’s biggest hits. Known for his logic-defying stunt sequences, that he incorporates in all of his films, Shetty grew as a masala film director further making films like Sunday (2008), Golmaal Returns (2008), All The Best (2009), and Golmaal 3 (2010). He also handles the cinematography in most of his films. He rose to prominence with his 2011 hit action film Singham, which was a remake of a Tamil film. The film was a wild success, and spawned a sequel, Singham Returns in 2014. In 2013, Shetty directed Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in Chennai Express, which is currently the fourth highest grossing Bollywood film worldwide, for which he was also nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Director. In addition to films, Shetty is a stunt enthusiast, and also hosts action reality shows on television. Rohit Shetty was born in Mumbai. He is the son of Indian stunt master M N Shetty. His future projects include directing the multistarrer, Dilwale (2015), starring Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Kajol and Kriti Sanon. He is the son of veteran stunt master, M N Shetty and is married to Maya Shetty.
