Ravi Varman is an Indian cinematographer, director, producer and writer who has shot many award finning films in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English. Born and brought up in Tamil Nadu, Ravi Varman made his debut as a cinematographer with Malayalam film, Jalamarmaram (1999). After working in Malayalam and Tamil films, he made his Bollywood debut with Yeh Dil (2003) and went on to work in many major Bollywood films like Armaan (2003), Phir Milenge (2004), Barfi! (2012) and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela (2013). He made his debut as a director with the film, Moscowin Kavery (2010) and produced Azgahu (2010). Ravi has won numerous accolades that include 23rd EME Drance Film Festival Award for Santham Malayalam (2000), Filmfare Best Cinematographer Award for Anniyan (2005), ITFA Best Cinematographer Award for Dasavathaaram (2009) and IIFA Award for Best Cinematograpgy for Barfi! (2012) among others. His future projects include films like Tamasha (2015) and an untitled Mani Ratnam film (2016). Apart from work in films, he has credit of working on more than 500 Television commercials, Music albums, short films and documentaries which included shooting M.I.A’s ‘Bird Flu’ music video.
