Biography

Ranjeet, is a veteran Indian television and film actor most known for his villainous roles in Bollywood films. With a career spanning over four decades, he has over 200 acting credits to his name. Born as Gopal Bedi or Goli in Amritsar, Punjab, Ranjeet was supposed to debut alongside acclaimed actor Jayant, in Zindagi Ki Rahen, but the project was shelved. He debuted as an actor with Saawan Bhado in 1969. Over the years, he has worked in over 200 films. He is remembered for his performances in films like, Khote Sikkay (1974), Duniya Ka Mela (1974), Apki Kasam (1974), Ameer Gareeb (1974), Burning Train (1980), Yaraana (1981), Lawaris (1981) and Halchal (1995) among many more. He also made his directorial debut with the film, Kaarnama (1990) and further directed Ghazab Tamasha (1992) which was also produced by him. He was seen in the TV series Aisa Des Hai Mera and featured in popular Punjabi films like Rab Ne Banayian Jodiyan and Man Jeete Jag Jeet. Some of his recent appearances were Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006), Welcome (2007), Deshdrohi (2008), No Problem (2010), Housefull 2 (2012), Shootout at Wadala (2013) and Mr Joe B. Carvalho (2014) and Welcome Back (2015). Ranjeet lives with wife Aaloka, in Mumbai.
