Biography

Considered to one of the best comic actors in modern cinema, Rajpal Yadav is an Indian film actor and director who, ironically shot to fame for his negative role in the film, Jungle for which he won the Best Screen Actor in a Negative Role Award and went on to do some iconic comic roles. Rajpal yadav was associated with Shahjahanpur theatre group and has performed in lots of plays before going to Lucknow for theatre training. He joined Bhartendu Natya Academy in 1992. After completion of the course he joined National School of Drama in 1994 in Delhi. In the year 1997 he came to Mumbai to achieve his desires and live his dreams. Rajpal started with television serial "Mungeri Ke Bhai Naurangilal". He plays the protagonist in that show. Rajpal debuted in the film with Ramgopal verma’s ‘shool’. He played the character of coolie in the film. Again Ramgopal verma gave him a chance in the movie Jungle. The performance in this movie was critically acclaimed and Rajpal made his presence felt in the industry. Yadav then moved on for doing different kinds of roles and did movies like ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’, Hungama, Waqt: The Race Against Time, Chup Chup Ke, Garam Masala, Phir Hera Pheri, Dhol etc.. Though Comedy being his main area of interest; he experimented with his roles in films like Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon and Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh. Rajpal Yadav was born and brought up in Shahjahanpur, Lucknow( Uttar Pradesh). he received his primary education. On June 10, 2003, he married to Radha, who was born and brought up in Calgary, Canada. Rajpal Yadav made his directorial debut with the film, Ata Pata Laapata (2012). His latest projects include roles in Welcome Back (2015), Bumper Draw (2015) and Ho Gaya Dimaag Ka Dahi (2015).
