Biography

Amit Sial is an Indian film actor who is associated with Bollywood and is best known for his role in Love Sex Aur Dhoka and Phas Gaye Re Obama among others. Born in Kanpur, India, Amit completed his post-graduation diploma in International Business from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. He was an active theater artist while in Melbourne. Before stepping into the field of acting, he worked as a franchise development director for a playschool in Delhi. While in Delhi, he did his theater training under Barry John at Theater Action Group (TAG). To pursue a career in acting, he moved to Mumbai in 2004. Amit made his acting debut with Tanuja Chandra’s English language movie Hope and a Little Sugar (2008), where he played the protagonist, however his role in the Hindi film, Love Sex aur Dhokha (2010) got him acclaim and recognition. He later went on to play roles in films like Phas Gaye Re Obama (2010), Issaq (2013), Peter Gaya Kaam Se (2014), Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi (2014) among others. Apart from acting, Amit has also directed and produced two short plays. He has also acted in the play “Arms and the Man”, directed by Naseeruddin Shah. His latest projects include roles in Umrika (2015), Titli (2015), Guddu Rangeela (2015) and Charlie Kay Chakkar Main (2015). Amit has also appeared on various TV commercials for brands like Pepperfry.com and LIC Insurance.
