Pooja Chopra is an Indian model and film actor. She was a runner-up at the Miss World 2009 beauty pageant. She landed her first lead role in Bollywood opposite Vidyut Jamwal in Vipul Shah’s Commando. Career: Pooja Chopra first hit the headlines as India’s representative at the Miss World pageant. Inspite of carrying a foot injury, she managed to bag the ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ award. Before that, she had also won a whole host of prizes during her successful bid at the Miss India pageant. Pooja Chopra’s first film role was as Princess Muthumayi in M Karunanidhi’s historical epic, Ponnar Shankar in 2011. The film was directed by Thiagarajan and was deemed a success. Having made a cameo appearance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie Fashion as herself, she returned with a supporting role in his next movie, Heroine. Pooja Chopra’s first lead role was in Commando in 2013, opposite Vidyut Jamwal. In spite of the general masculine theme of the movie, her role was commended. Personal Life: Pooja Chopra was born to a single mother in Kolkatta in 1986. She is now a resident of Kubera Park in Pune. At the Miss World 2010 pageant, she also won $10,000 for her Nanhi Kali initiative, which aims to educate girl children in rural areas.
