Mohit Suri is an Indian story writer and director and the nephew of celebrated producers, Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt. He is best known for directing films like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain. Born and brought up in Mumbai, Mohit had a keen interest getting into films owing to his filmy clan which comprises Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. He worked as an assistant director to Vikram Bhatt before making his directorial debut with the film, Zeher (2005) which was well received but his claim to fame proved to be Kalyug (2005) which received positive reviews and was a box office hit. He was also the storywriter for both of the above movies. He went on to direct films like Woh Lamhe (2006), Awarapan (2007) which was critically acclaimed, Raaz 2: The Mystery Continues (2009) and Crook: It’s Good To Be Bad (2010). His next three film, Murder 2 (2011), Aashiqui 2 (2013) and Ek Villain (2014) were blockbusters at the box office. His latest release was Hamari Adhuri Kahani (2015) which did moderate business at the box office, and his future project include the adaption of Chetan Bhagat’s novel, Half Girlfriend with the same name (2016). He tied the knot with Udita Goswami in 2013.
