Kumar Mangat is an acclaimed Indian Film producer known for producing films like Omkara, Special 26 and Pyaar ka Punchnama. In 1985, he began as a production manager in Deepak Bahry’s Patthar. He was an assistant in Dilwale Kabhi Na Hare (1992) and Hulchul (1995). He served as a casting director for Ishq (1997) and Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha (1998). He was an actor and executive producer of Dil Kya Kare (1999). In 2000, he was the executive producer for Raju Chacha and produced a short film, The Awakening. In 2004, he helped in the production of the Aishwarya Rai starrer, Raincoat. His first film as an independent producer was the critically acclaimed and multi award winner, Omkara (2006). He rose to stardom and produced movies like No Smoking (2006), Sunday (2008), One Two Three (2008) and U Me aur Hum (2008). He launched his daughter, Amita Pathak, in 2008, with Haal-e-Dil. He proceeded to produce several films including Money Hai Toh Honey Hai (2008), All the Best (2009), Aakrosh (2010), Toonpur Ka Superhero (2010), Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011), Bittoo Boss (2012), Son of Sardaar (2012), Akaash Vani (2013), Special 26 (2013), Aatma (2013) and Singham Returns (2014). In 2009, he made another critically acclaimed short film, Boond. Omkara, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Son of Sardaar, Special 26 and Singham Returns are his most successful and popular movies. His upcoming venture is the Ajay Devgan starrer, Drishyam (2015). Mangat’s son Abhishek is also a renowned producer and his daughter is an actor and filmmaker.
