David Dhawan is a noted Indian filmmaker.
David Dhawan began his career as an editor. In 1989, he made his debut feature Aandhiyan which was received well at the box office. He has directed some of the best comedy films of Bollywood such as Aankhen (1993), Loafer (1996), Judwaa (1997), Gharwali Baharwali (1998), Biwi No. 1 (1999), Yeh Hai Jalwa (2002), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi? (2004), Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), Partner (2007), and Main Tera Hero (2014). He has had successful collaborations with actors Govinda and Salman Khan.
Dhawan’s films have been described as those which use slapstick and dialogue delivery to induce comic situations.

David Dhawan was born in Punjab. He is married to Karuna Dhawan, and has two children. His son Varun Dhawan is a Bollywood actor.
