Amaal Mallik is a music composer in Bollywood, known for his numbers in Rowdy Rathore, R...Rajkumar and Ab Tak Chhappan 2. Amaal is the son of Daboo Malik and nephew of renowned music composer Anu Malik. He studied in Jamnabai Narsee School and graduated in commerce from N.M College in Mumbai. Amaal received informal training in Indian classical music from his grandfather Sri Sardar Malik. He is also trained in Western Classical, Jazz and Rock forms from The Trinity College of Music. As a teenager, Amaal started assisting music composer Amar Mohile for the soundtrack of Sarkar (2005) and Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007). He later got involved in production and arrangement of music for his father Daboo Malik in the film Kisaan (2009). Between 2008 to 2011 he assisted music composer Pritam on various film albums along with producing background scores for films like Rowdy Rathore (2012), R....Rajkumar (2013), Saheb Biwi Gangster Returns (2013), Heroine (2012) and many more. He made his debut as a composer in 2014 with Salman Khan's film Jai Ho (2014). This was followed with the song "Naina" in the film Khoobsurat (2014). Apart from the ones mentioned, Ammal has also directed music for various films like Roy (2015) and Ek Paheli Leela (2015). His debut as a solo background score composer was the film Khwaabb (2014) which was a sports film and earned good reviews. Till date, Amaal has successfully composed music for almost sixty seven advertisement jingles with renowned directors like Prakash Verma, Prahlad Kakar, Jeet Surendranth, Hemanth Bhandari for brands like Amul, Horlicks, Vodafone, Toyota, Relaxo, Cornetto, Sunfeast, Indian Oil, iBall and Makemytrip. His upcoming films as a music director include Hero (2015) and All Is Well (2015).
