Akiv Ali is a popular Indian film editor, known for films like Gangster, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai and The Dirty Picture. Ali began as an assistant editor with Vikram Bhatt’s Fault (2001) starring Divya Dutta and Apoorv Agnihotri. He served in the editorial departments of Ye Zindagi Ka Safar (2001), Raaz (2002), Aap Mujhe Ache Lagne Lage (2002) and Awara Paagal Deewana (2002). In 2003, he became the editorial head in Ravindra Peepat’s Kash… Aap Hamare Hote, starring Juhi Babbar, Sonu Nigam and Om Puri. He also acted in the movie Rog, in 2005. In a career spanning over twelve years, he has over 30 films to his credit, having edited movies like Saaya (2003), Paap (2003), Murder (2004), Tumsa Nahin Dekha (2004), Zeher (2005), Kalyug (2005), Gangster (2006), The Killer (2006), Woh Lamhe (2006) and Life...In A Metro (2007). He proceeded to edit Kites (2010), I Hate Luv Storys (2010), Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2010), The Dirty Picture (2011), Agneepath (2012), Barfi! (2012), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara (2013), Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (2013) and Bang Bang (2014). Ali is currently working on big banner projects like Karan Johar’s Brothers (2015) and Shuddhi (2016).
